| JUNIOR CHURCH REPORT - SEPTEMBER, 2009 |
| |
Welcome back to Junior Church! I hope you all had a super summer and are getting used to school again!! This year we are continuing with our four Junior Church groups: LIGHT (2yrs+), GIFT (6yrs+), FOG (10yrs+) and Illumin8 (secondary school goers). All the groups will meet in the newly revamped Youth and Family Area in the Tennant Hall. we are really looking forward to using the sound and AV facilities. Please drop over and have a look. This term will be a bust one...we will be decorating a window for the Harvest Service, plus getting ready for the stall at the Sale of Work, preparing for the Christmas season and learning a few new songs and stories. Our Junior Church Leaders this year are Michelle O'Donnell, Carol Esmonde, Louise Potts and Alison Menezes. Thank you to our Leaders for their commitment and time to Junior Church. I am still looking for one more leader and if there is any someone in the congregation who would like to be involved, please don't be shy and come and talk to me! Later on this term, we hope to organise a few extra activities including a Halloween party, so keep an eye out for the October Cornerstone for details!! If anyone has any suggestions, I would be delighted to hear from them. Finally, I am looking for some old cushion stuffing, so if anyone has some old cushions that are no longer of use, I would be delighted to take them. Doreen - Team Leader |

| JUNIOR CHURCH REPORT - JANUARY, 2009 |
| |
Happy New Year to you all. We start back in Junior Church today after our Christmas break. I hope you all had a terrific Christmas and I’m sure that Santa found all your houses! I hope that you remembered to say Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas Day. Last month we had our Gift Service on December 14th. The service was a celebration of Christmas by the members of Junior Church. A big thanks has to go to all the members of Junior Church and to the Leaders who put in a huge effort and were fantastic. Also thanks to Mrs. Pat Lane for baking a birthday cake for the service, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children afterwards (I don’t think any of the adults got a crumb!). We may have forgotten to have a baby Jesus in the Nativity play but Jesus was certainly not forgotten! Also a big thanks to all the Leaders and parents for your work and time. Finally, thanks to Paula for co-ordinating the songs with us, we look forward to continuing this in the future. Our gifts went to Focus Ireland and they were collected the following week. The Social Workers who collected them were absolutely delighted. Last year we had a Bookmark Competition and this year we had a Fridge Magnet competition. We had a great entry from 12 members of Junior Church. Thank you all and I hope you enjoyed your prizes! Thanks to Jean Binnie for all her help in copying and laminating the fridge magnets. This term, the first two groups will be continuing learning bible stories, The Creation and The Easter Story. The third group will be looking at our Church in Rathgar and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. As we are know we will be starting our 150th Celebration of the congregation in CCR. In Junior Church, we will be doing our bit! We are hoping to display some special art work and we will be spending time learning about our congregation’s history. Doreen Team Leader |
